Frequencies and More - Conditions that Indicate Existing or Developing Problems

Given today’s need for reliable equipment, Vibration Analysis is becoming the number one choice in testing programs implemented by maintenance and facilities professionals. Studies have shown that the vibration analysis data signature of a machine provides far more information about the condition of that machine than any type of electrical, infrared, or other testing method.  Substantial savings are realized if equipment is shut down for repairs before a failure occurs.

Traditional maintenance methods are preventive - components are replaced or repaired according to a fixed schedule whether worn or not. Traditional maintenance methods are also reactive - repairing components only after they have broken down. Neither method is ideal, although both are very common throughout the maintenance sector and both tend to incur much higher costs than methods that use vibration analysis.

Energy savings is another welcome by-product of vibration analysis.  It is estimated that the average facility wastes between 5 – 15% of its energy usage.  This loss is often attributed to the misalignment and unbalance of rotating machines – with energy being converted into heat rather than horsepower.  Once again, both conditions can be easily diagnosed with vibration analysis.  New England SpinTech is also equipped to correct these issues.

Continuous Vibration Monitoring

Permanently Installed Vibration Sensors can be used for quicker and safer data collection at your site

or continuous 24/7 monitoring from our main office and remote locations

              Vibration Analysis for Trouble Shooting

When troubleshooting with vibration analysis you can quickly identify the problem and eliminate trial and error parts replacement. Vibration analysis can detect the early signs of machine failure allowing machinery to be repaired or replaced before an expensive failure resulting in downtime occurs.

Vibration Analysis

Vibration Analysis for Predictive Maintenance Trending

Predictive Maintenance (PdM) techniques help determine the condition of in-service equipment in order to predict when maintenance should be performed. This approach offers cost savings over routine or time-based preventive maintenance, because tasks are performed only when warranted. Vibration analysis is the most common technique used in predictive maintenance.

             Vibration Analysis for Acceptance Testing

Acceptance testing (the process of recording baseline data when equipment is new (or newly rebuilt) will identify the initial machine condition before it is put into service or the warranty expires. When followed by a properly scheduled Predictive Maintenance Program, the condition of your machinery will always be known.

  Vibration Analysis

Vibration Analysis for Building and Floor Vibration

Vibration Analysis Services can be performed on building floors, walls, and other areas to determine placement for sensitive equipment such as microscopes and medical equipment.  It can also be used to identify vibration frequencies that may be bothersome to people in the building.  Steps can then be taken to correct the causes.
